Some might think giving back to their community entails providing large amounts of money to local organizations, or organizing fundraising events for many to participate in; however, giving back to your community can be much simpler.
Every month from March to September, Main Street Alexander City hosts Second Saturday Clean Ups to help keep the city clean while also giving back to local nonprofit organizations. To give back by Second Saturday Clean Ups, grab some friends to help clean up the downtown area. The group who picks up the most trash receives $500 to donate to a local nonprofit of their choice. The group who places second receives $300, and third place receives $200.
