Downtown Tallassee beginning to see a rebirth

Buildings are starting to come to life again in downtown Tallassee as a new generation tries to bring back a gathering spot it had become accustomed to as children.

“I think that this generation is really stepping up and trying to get, you know, thinking outside the box a little bit with things that we would like to see and happen,” Claire Scroggins said. “I think everybody's now kind of coming together and working together. It's awesome because we came up in the times where we took dance down here. The hotel was booming. We had the Roxie. We remember it then.”
