Heading into Friday night’s game, the Holtville Bulldogs knew it was going to be tough sledding against the scorching hot Clay Central Volunteers. And they got all they could handle in a 42-0 loss in Class 5A Region 4 football action.

The Bulldogs have battled adversity all season due to a primarily youthful roster. Heading into Friday night’s matchup between the Bulldogs and the Vols, Bulldog coach Cory Lee was well aware of the large task at hand. The Volunteers have hit their stride at this point in this season with all of their playmakers back and healthy.
