The Holtville Bulldogs look toward a critical region game against Valley, who just defeated Elmore County in dramatic fashion with seconds left on the clock. Last season saw an overtime shootout between these Region 4 foes, in which Holtville came out on top.

The Holtville Bulldogs haven’t won a game since Week 3 of the season. This week, they face a dangerous Valley team that just last week beat Elmore County on a last-second go-ahead touchdown to earn the No. 2 spot in AHSAA Class 5A Region 4.

This Holtville team has proven it has the talent and potential to win these tough matchups and games that come down to the wire, but that team hasn’t shown up on the field in weeks. The youth and relative inexperience of this 2025 Bulldog roster has played a factor, as mistakes and miscues have plagued Holtville since its last win at Sylacauga. This week’s region showdown against Valley could be a clean slate for the Bulldogs to prove they are capable of hanging with good football teams — and even beating them.Â
