Another week, another series of playdates for the Benjamin Russell girls basketball team this summer.

On Wednesday, the Wildcats made the trip to now-area opponent Wetumpka for a large playdate which featured 10 schools in total, and a plethora of games to show for it. The Wildcats varsity squad played three games, while the JV team got two games under its belt as well. Arguably, one of the more anticipated matchups was the very first against Park Crossing, which has made it the Class 6A State title game in back-to-back seasons — winning in 2025.
