On Tuesday, Horseshoe Bend athletic director and football coach Jeremy Phillips announced his resignation from the school. Now, he’ll take over as the Alexander City Parks and Recreation Department director.

Phillips has spent the past seven years at Horseshoe Bend, compiling a 20-51 record as the football coach. In 2024, he led the Generals to one of their best seasons in program history, going 6-5 and making the playoffs for the first time in eight years. This past season, the Generals went 0-10 and missed the playoffs.
