Gov. Kay Ivey has authorized flags be flown at half-staff all day Wednesday on the grounds of the Alabama State Capitol Complex in Montgomery, in Alexander City and Dadeville and throughout Tallapoosa County to honor the life and service of former State Rep. James Thomas Cullins, Jr., who died Saturday at age of 96.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Berlin Airlift at the end of the Second World War, Rep. James T. Cullins spent most of his 75-year career laboring in the ministry, pastoring at close to a dozen churches and nursing facilities over his lifetime. Cullins was the founder of Hillabee Towers.
