According to a weather briefing from the National Weather Service, Central Alabama should prepare as Tropical Storm Isaias approaches the Gulf. 

NWS forecast team representative Jim Westland said the biggest impacts for Central Alabama currently is heavy rainfall that could potentially turn into flash flooding and gusty winds that could cause power outages and down trees. Elmore County is currently inside the level 2 out of 5 risk for tornadoes while Tallapoosa County is outside of the risk, but Westland said there is a possibility it could shift in ththe direction of Tallapoosa County.
