The City of Alexander City is excited to announce the launch of its new smart texting messaging service in collaboration with TextMyGoc. This innovative platform enables residents to receive timely notifications directly from the city and access essential information with just a text.
Thursday afternoon an initial mass text message was sent to residents announcing this new tool. Residents who did not receive the initial text they can opt in at any time by texting ALEXANDERCITY to 91896. Once registered, participants will receive important updates, including road closures, service interruptions, special events and general city news.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
To prevent freezing and possible bursting of pipes they should be
wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly.
Those that have in ground sprinkler systems should drain them and
cover above ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
