The City of Alexander City has received a grant from Gov. Kay Ivey’s office to upgrade the HVAC system at Sugar Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, according to a press release from Ivey.

The amount awarded to Alex City was $24,003 and is part of a 16 grants around the state totaling close to $700,000 to make upgrades to lighting, heating and air conditioning and wastewater treatment systems at facilities operated by local governments, utilities and nonprofit organizations across the state.
