 911 dispatchers at the Tallapoosa County Sheriff's Department respond to calls and texts and connect first responders to the caller's location.

Most people know to reach 911 only by a telephone call; however, Tallapoosa County dispatchers can also respond to texts to 911, and now they can get a live view of the person calling.

Right before National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department gained the ability to live streaming with those who text 911.
