Local veterinarian speaks to heartworm protection

Local veterinarian Dr. Bob Bush was the guest speaker for the March 14 Lake Martin-Dadeville Area Kiwanis Club meeting.

If your dog doesn’t have a heartworm preventative, this might be the sign to start one.

Dr. Bob Bush came to a recent Lake Martin-Dadeville Area Kiwanis meeting to talk about dog care. He said in the first year of a dog’s life the biggest threat is Parvo. The recommendation is to get vaccinated starting at six to eight weeks and continue until 18-20 weeks.
