Thousands experience power loss from storm

Last week, severe thunderstorms throughout the area caused widespread power outages throughout the area.

At Monday’s commission meeting, Tallapoosa County Emergency Management Agency director Jason Moran said about 4,100 residents lost power during the storms. There were also several trees knocked down, and two locations with structural damage from the storm – all damages were wind related.
