The question of ownership of Nathaniel H. Stephens Elementary School is still unanswered.

Alexander City Schools recently hired local attorney Tom Goree to research and find any old documents to determine the ownership of the school, including the land and buildings. While he did find evidence of some portions of the property, the main building still remains a mystery.

The Alexander City Schools Board of Education presented an award to outgoing board member Brett Pritchard, center. Thursday's meeting was the last he will attend as a member of the board.
