Retired veterinarian announces run for commission

Alabama native Shane West has qualified to run for Tallapoosa County Commission District 4 on the Republican ticket and believes Tallapoosa County deserves experienced, steady leadership grounded in service, fiscal responsibility and common sense.

A graduate of Auburn University, West earned a degree in veterinary medicine and went on to build and operate four successful veterinary practices, according to a press release. Through that work, he created jobs, managed budgets and made long-term decisions requiring accountability and sound judgment. His business experience provides a practical foundation for managing county resources responsibly and efficiently, according to a press release.
