Central Coosa’s Omar Gaddis splits a pair of Clay Central defenders during Friday night’s 63-57 victory.

Defense was the name of the game for both Central Coosa’s girls and boys basketball teams in a Friday night sweep of Clay Central.

Both games were tight at halftime, but the Cougar defense came alive in the third quarter of the doubleheader. The girls secured a 67-53 victory to move to 2-1 on the season, and the boys earned a 63-57 win to give Jeremy Freeman his first win as head coach.
