Two people in Alexander City have been pronounced dead after a shooting in the Avondale area on Monday afternoon.

According to an Alexander City Police Department press release, at approximately 12:57 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Third Street and 10th Avenue in reference to a vehicle that had been shot into. Upon arrival, officers discovered two occupants inside the vehicle. The occupants were both pronounced deceased on scene, the release stated.
