With his pick of the litter, Horseshoe Bend senior Elijah Smith really had to weigh his options for where he’d fit best for his next track and field steps. And after careful consideration, he landed on Mississippi College, a Division II college located in Clinton, Mississippi.

The two-time Class 2A state champion in the discus had plenty of conversations with coaches from Western Kentucky and South Alabama along with a few Division I schools. But it was the efforts of the Choctaws’ coaching staff that really pulled him in.
