Horseshoe Bend's two time state champion, Elijah Smith, is eying to continue his dominance at the next level. 

When most think of track and field, their mind goes to sprinters. However, Horseshoe Bends Elijah Smith has quite literally thrown himself into the spotlight. 

Smith has been one of the Generals' mainstays in the throwing events, earning his second consecutive state championship in the discus at the AHSAA Class 2A state meet. The rising senior has been at the top of his game since initially participating back in eighth grade. And it was during that early stage of his career Smith saw where he could go with the sport.
