Week one of the college football season is in the books, and it’s clear to me that the nature of the sport may be the determining factor in who makes the playoffs. Forget the committee, or the strength of schedule, this may all come down to a CT scan.

First, there was Ohio State’s  Braxton Miller going down during fall camp. The Miller injury not only affects the Buckeyes, but also the Big Ten. It may affect MSU’s chances, depending on what happens this Saturday against Oregon.
