The Alexander City Health Club named the city’s father of the year Thursday, and he is a father who has made a lasting impact on the community and in his home – Chris Abbett.

Chris Abbett was unable to hear for a great deal of his life, and when he married his wife Glenda Abbett, he not only gained a family but he also received the gift of sound through a surgical procedure.
