September is the month that gets football fans and dove hunters excited. According to Keith Guyse, Assistant Chief of the Wildlife Section of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Wildlife and Fresh Water Fisheries Division, Alabama should have a good dove season.

“The call count conducted in the spring showed the dove count to be slightly lower, but we feel the good nesting conditions through the summer will more than make up for the low spring count,” said Guyse.
