An agreement Thursday between MidAmerican Energy Holdings and Constellation Energy could impact the Hillabee Energy Center in Alexander City.

The two companies announced a tentative agreement to have MidAmerican purchase all of the outstanding shares of Constellation Energy for a cash consideration of about $4.7 Billion. The companies plan to reach a definitive agreement on this by close of business Friday, according to a statement on Constellation’s Web Site.
