Shap 2026 budget

Governor Shapiro unveils 202627 budget proposal.

Harrisburg, Pa. — Governor Josh Shapiro presented his $53 billion 2026-27 budget proposal on Tuesday, highlighting a call for a $15 minimum wage, an increase for education funding, and a framework for legalizing and taxing marijuana.

The proposal builds on three years of historic progress by continuing to do what's working across the Commonwealth to lower costs, create economic growth, strengthen public safety, support students, and continue Pennsylvania's rise, Shapiro said.
