A remembrance of the Confederate States of America is growing in Tallassee.
The Tallassee Armory Guards Camp 1921 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) has been constructing Confederate Armory Park for the last several years on its property in downtown Tallassee. The park looks over the Tallapoosa River, Highway 14 and the Fitzpatrick Bridge.
Cliff Williams / TPI A statue for Stonewall Jackson has been standing in a private park construction by the Tallassee Guards of the Sons of the Confederacy. The group is adding to the park to honor those who fought in the Civil War for the Confederacy and members of the Tallassee Guards.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of
subfreezing temperatures could cause pipes to burst.

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
To prevent freezing and possible bursting of pipes they should be
wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly.
