If selected, Bailey will be the first player from Alabama to participate in the league.
Millbrook and greater Elmore County understand Heaven Bailey is a big deal. Now, the whole state of Alabama will understand it. Last week, Stanhope Elmore’s girls basketball team announced via Facebook that its own rising senior point guard was one of the few selected to tryout for Overtime Select.
“From my understanding, it’s a big deal,” SEHS coach Kelvin Stokes said. “It’s almost like a try-out for an all-American team, like the best in the country, the best in the world. They invite kids from all over the world, Spain and Italy and different places. They choose from thousands of applicants and only 15 are chosen to try out. This is a major opportunity for Heaven to get recruited at the highest level.”
