Tallassee picks up win in first round of area tournament

After a regular season full of ups and downs, Tallassee’s boys basketball team survived the first round of the Class 4A Area 5 tournament, beating LAMP 65-50 on Saturday afternoon. 

“It’s almost like a roller coaster,” Tallassee coach Lawrence “L.A.” O’Neal said. “We show really good spurts where we play really well, and then we’ll take a step back, and then we’ll take two steps forward. So if we add up the steps, we’re ahead of where we started, but we’re still not quite where we need to be.”
