Cliff Williams has been named news editor for the Elmore County newspapers that are part of Tallapoosa Publishers, Inc. (TPI).
Williams is a Dadeville native and has been with TPI for more than eight years — primarily in Tallapoosa County. His new role will allow for more robust content to be produced for readers of The Tallassee Tribune and The Wetumpka Herald in Elmore County. Tippy Hunter, TPI’s general manager, said that Williams will better serve the audience in Elmore County.

- At 154 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between
1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.

Alexander City, Jacksons' Gap, New Site, Goldville, Hillabee
Creek, Northern Lake Martin, Daviston, Horseshoe Bend,
Horseshoe Bend National Military Park, Eagle Creek and
Hackneyville.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

today along a stalled frontal boundary draped across Central
Alabama. High confidence exists for slow-moving storms capable of
producing very heavy rainfall on top of already saturated soils for
locations within the watch area.

Clay, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson,
Lamar, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens,
Pike, Randolph, Russell, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega,
Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa and Walker.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks
