It had already been a stormy day around Eclectic football, with five-year head coach Kyle Caldwell off the sidelines and placed on administrative leave pending a school board investigation. 

But then, midway through the third quarter, the literal lighting on the horizon got too close for officials to ignore. Elmore County High and Chilton County High were tied 14-14, with the Panthers’ two touchdowns scored by senior running back Tyler Payton.
