Tallassee’s head football coach and athletic director Lawrence “L.A.” O’Neal has confirmed that he has been offered and accepted a head coaching position at Park Crossing High School in Montgomery pending board approval. The Montgomery school board will meet on Tuesday, April 14. 

O’Neal arrived at Tallassee for the 2024-25 football season, arriving from Booker T. Washington in Tuskegee. Through two seasons at Tallassee, O’Neal was 15-8. In his first season with the Tigers, O’Neal took a 1-9 team to a 9-3 record and led Tallassee to the third round of the playoffs, falling to eventual state champs Jackson. Last season, Tallassee finished 6-5, going 4-3 in Class 4A Region 3 play, before being ousted in the playoffs to American Christian. Through his career, O’Neal has tallied a 34-25 record.
