Elementary school students from Dadeville and Horseshoe Bend gathered throughout the month of June at their respective schools for the 2017 Summer Arts Enrichment Camp. The camp culminated Thursday morning with an on-stage performance in front of well receiving audiences. Dadeville’s performance began at 9 a.m. with “The Wizard of Oz,” while Horseshoe Bend opened their show, “Tunes & Tales Around the World,” at 10 a.m.

Even though they kept the overall story the same, Dadeville’s participants put their own spin on the classic tale, relocating Dorothy’s home to Alabama and Dorothy declaring that, after she had landed in Oz, she must be somewhere north of Birmingham.
