Some might think they are prepared for bad weather and emergency situations, but Tallapoosa County Emergency Management Agency director Jason Moran proved there might be more preparation needed than one might think.
Moran was the guest speaker at the Lake Martin-Dadeville Area Chamber of Commerce Chamber luncheon and provided his guidance on how to stay prepared. One of those ways is to be connected to Tallapoosa Alert, the countywide notification system. Alerts are made to those within the polygon system of the weather threat. If signed up, participants will receive a text message, voice call or email if you are in the polygon that would trigger a warning. The only requirement is a Tallapoosa County address, and those interested can sign-up through the Tallapoosa County website. The number that calls is 256-825-1078. While the text message number will change, it is currently 89361.
