The Wetumpka Indians will host their rivals, the Stanhope Elmore Mustangs, at the Wetumpka Sports Complex on Friday night. It is also Wetumpka’s homecoming night. 

The Wetumpka Indians and the Stanhope Elmore Mustangs have been rivals for more than 50 years. In football, the foes have played each other 56 times, every year since 1970 including once in the playoffs. Currently, Stanhope Elmore has the advantage over Wetumpka, having won 32 meetings to the Indians’ 24 to date. 

Over the last few years, however, it’s been all Wetumpka. The Indians have claimed the last four meetings, every one since 2021.
