Stanhope Elmore’s Zach Goodson was a tackles leader in Class 6A through the fifth week of the regular season. Now, in the back end of the season, he’s making his mark through big, impact plays that put his team in a position to put a game into the win column.

To be a leader on a football team, you have to know when to step up. But that is easier said than done. It’s easy to see something and want it, but doing what it takes is always a different story. 

In last week’s rivalry game against Wetumpka, Stanhope Elmore’s Zach Goodson found a way to do exactly that – make big plays in crucial moments. Goodson came away with 11 tackles and two huge interceptions against Wetumpka, one of them being a pick-six. Goodson is the Elmore County Player of the Week.
