Stanhope Elmore wrestlers get off to a strong start

This season, Stanhope Elmore’s boys and girls wrestlers have gotten off to a solid start. The boys competed in their first dual of the year at Tallassee on Nov. 17, facing the Tigers as well as the Elmore County Panthers. The Mustangs fell to reigning Class 4A state champion Tallassee, 75-6. 

Reigning Class 6A individual state champion in the heavyweight category, Dominic Sager, was the only Stanhope Elmore wrestler to notch some points for the Mustangs. He pinned Tallassee’s Vincente Diego after two minutes.
