Officials have been working to put numbers on quality of life projects in Elmore County, especially 17 Springs.

Submitted / TPI A new study shows 17 Springs is estimated to have a $166 million economic impact per year on Elmore County. It’s an estimate based on data collected since Phase 2 of the Complex opened six months ago.

The Elmore County Economic Development Authority has partnered with the Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama to produce data of 17 Springs to show the overall economic impact for the project. According to the PARCA study, the more than 100 acre project saw $103 million in direct spending for construction and more in in-kind services generating $131.3 million in total economic output while supporting 787 jobs.
