You could almost feel what was about to happen when Lily Moss stood in the batter’s box on Saturday. The sun was covered, the wind shifted in the right direction — and the pitch went right where she wanted it. 

Facing a 2-1 count, with the bases loaded, Moss connected with the ball and for a split-second, time seemed to slow down. The ball lifted into the air; going, going, gone to left field.
