An Alexander City man is behind bars after being arrested for attempted murder on Sunday night. Jar’stavious Black, 28, of Alexander City, is currently awaiting a bond hearing for the alleged crime.

According to a press release from the Alexander City Police Department, officers responded to the 500 block of Glenwood Road in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers identified the victim as Jeremiah Pogue, 28, of Alexander City. According to the release, he had suffered one gunshot wound and was transported to Russell Medical, where he was then airlifted to Baptist East in Montgomery.
