Better sooner than later: Baseball, softball fields’ upgrades cost will only increase

Before the Alexander City Board of Education voted to accept a bid of $3.624 million for upgrades to both the baseball and softball fields used by Alexander City schools at the Charles E. Bailey Sportplex, superintendent Dr. Jose Reyes went over why the board needed to go ahead with the renovations during the board’s recent work session.

“What I want to make sure is that you have as much information as you can now,” Reyes said. “You have to make a decision within 60 days of the bid date.”
