Typically, when a Class 2A school meets a 6A opponent, the result can be lopsided. However, the Central Coosa boys basketball team rose to the occasion against rival Benjamin Russell — narrowly falling 67-62.

For much like it has been all season, the backcourt combination of Cory Thompson and Waylon Chapman-Allen was hard to stop. Chapman-Allen led the way in the scoring department, finishing with a game-high 25 points — knocking down five 3-pointers. Then Thompson joined in with another 14 points while Zaccai Lauderdale added 10 points to the final total.
