Alabama will temporarily remove the state sales tax on most food items from May 1 through June 30.
The temporary tax break comes as part of Act 2026-604, which removes the state sales and use tax on qualifying food items for a two-month period. While the move is expected to reduce grocery bills for many households, shoppers should note that local taxes imposed by cities and counties will still apply and vary depending on location.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.
