The first round of the Class 2A baseball playoffs commenced over the weekend, with the Horseshoe Bend baseball team facing off against Tuscaloosa Academy on the road. Unfortunately, the Generals fell 2-0 in the series to the Knights; losing Game 1, 4-0, and Game 2, 5-4.

In the first game of the series, Tuscaloosa Academy pitcher Henry Smith came out of the game hot. He finished with nine strikeouts, surrendering one hit and two walks in his seven innings on the mound. Carson Turner was the lone General to log a hit on the day, finishing 1-2 at the plate. Garrett Hannh and Bryce Jordan each got time on the base, each via a walk.

File / TPI Horseshoe Bend's Loughton Spates and the Generals fell to Tusacloosa Academy in the first round of the playoffs. Horseshoe Bend finished the season with a 14-10 record.
