Jeremy Michael Deason, 48, of Smiths Station, was arrested July 4 on charges of first-degree theft of property.

According to court documents, Deason allegedly stole a Mitsubishi forklift valued at $28,000. Tallapoosa County Sheriff Jimmy Abbett said the theft occurred in the Daviston area.
