ACS joins statewide lawsuit, announces update with high school

Tuesday, the Alexander City Schools Board of Education approved joining a new lawsuit filed against social media companies as well as announced an update regarding the location of the new Benjamin Russell High School.

Alexander City Schools Board of Education members made several announcements Tuesday, including that it will participate in a class-action lawsuit targeting social media companies and a definitive location for the school district's new high school. 

Superintendent Dr. Beverly Price requested the board to approve joining other Alabama school systems in a class-action lawsuit against Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, for the platform’s harmful effects on children.
