While Flag Day celebrates the adoption of the stars and stripes as the American flag, some in the Dadeville community honored the holiday by laying worn flags to rest.

Last Friday, PRC James J. “Spanky” Harrelson of American Legion Post 143 invited community members to drop off their tattered, faded or old American flags to be properly disposed of.
