The Outlook stands by its previous reporting in regards to a cease and desist letter that was issued to councilor Bill Young by the Alexander City Board of Education. The story entitled “Councilor Young accused of ‘unlawful, unethical’ behavior toward board of education” published on Aug. 22 included only factual information. After publication of the article, Young claimed he never said communication between him and the board of education ceased at the January board meeting; however, The Outlook has a recorded transcript of Young saying the opposite. The Outlook has also issued a public records request through the Alexander City Schools system asking for communication between Young and any ACBOE members or superintendent Dr. Jose Reyes, and will report its findings when and if the request is approved.
