Although the Alexander City City Council voted on Aug. 17 to hire Thomas Goree Jr. as its next city attorney, the council ended up tabling the resolution that would allow Mayor Mike Densmore to enter into a contract with Goree.

District 2 council member Bill Young questioned three items in the contract, two that pertained to Goree’s retainer and the third was who would pay the bill.

In August, Thomas Goree Jr. received the majority vote from the Alexander City City Council to replace retiring city attorney Larkin Radney.
