Alexander City Police Department Chief Chris Spivey has confirmed law enforcement investigated a shooting Monday night.

According to Spivey, officers responded to a call on Coley Creek Road where they later discovered a gunshot victim. Officers rendered aid until medics arrived. Spivey said the victim was transported to Russell Medical where he was then flown for further treatment. He sustained non-life threatening injuries, Spivey said.
