Back-to-school sales tax holiday begins this week

All Alexander City residents are encouraged to shop local the weekend of July 15  for a tax break when purchasing school supplies.

The City of Alexander City has elected to participate in Alabama's Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday yet again and is encouraging all residents to shop local the weekend of July 15 for school supplies. 

Alabama will be holding a statewide sales tax holiday beginning Friday, July 15, at 12:01 a.m. and ending Sunday at midnight. The holiday will waive the state’s four percent sales tax for purchases of items on an approved list.
