Beautification board manages invasive plant in Keebler Park

Abigail Murphy / TPI The Japanese Climbing Fern is an invasive species that has been growing in Keebler Park and jeopardizing native fern growth. However, members of Dadeville Beautification Board are working to manage this species.

The Japanese Climbing Fern has been staking its claim on Keebler Park. While it might be pretty, it’s not good for the park long term.

Japanese Climbing Fern, or Lygodium japonicum, is a true fern. It propagates through spores, which means it can be easily spread with just a gust of the wind.
